Portal Cranes for Indonesia Port Handling
Project Background
In January 2022, a port customer in Indonesia asked Weihua Group for a portal crane solution to improve the cargo handling efficiency of its port terminal. The customer’s requirements were clear: the portal crane needed to have high load capacity, flexible maneuverability, and adapt to complex working conditions.
Customized Solution
Weihua’s highly professional team, after comprehensively understanding the customer’s specific requirements in great detail,designed an extremely efficient portal slewing crane solution for them. This solution encompasses one MQ25t-32m and four MQ40t-38m portal cranes. All these cranes make use of a four-link combination boom and cylindrical gantry structure, which is specifically designed to ensure unwavering stability and long-term durability within the port environment. The portal jib cranes are equipped with a slewing device featuring large slewing bearings, enabling them to support seamless 360-degree slewing operation. Moreover, they can be used in combination with a diverse range of lifting gears such as hooks and grabs, thereby meeting various operational requirements.
Each portal crane is outfitted with an advanced AC frequency conversion speed control system, which facilitates the independent or joint operation of the hoisting, bluffing, and slewing mechanisms, thus fulfilling the need for operational flexibility and precision. The entire machine adopts a PLC control system and full frequency conversion stepless speed regulation technology. In addition, the fault monitoring system is incorporated, which significantly enhances the operational efficiency and safety of the equipment.
Functions
Intelligent Monitoring System: The driver’s cab is furnished with an intelligent condition monitoring control panel. This panel conducts real-time monitoring of the equipment operation status, offers a dynamic graphic display as well as fault diagnosis functionality, thereby facilitating the operator to promptly address issues.
Safety and Maintenance: Incorporated with an integrated safety information alarm system and lubrication and maintenance management functions, ensuring the long-term and stable operation of the equipment and effectively reducing maintenance costs.
Efficient Operation: The portal crane is capable of running in a straight line along the horizontal rail, catering to the requirements of large-scale operations in the port and significantly enhancing the efficiency of loading and unloading operations.
